Sturgis Rally # 7 - Old Barn PitchFork Fondue

PitchFork FondueOK, so lets see, the last blog on Sturgis was in late January, and it was kind of the reason I started this blog (some 113 posts ago) I have not even finished and in less than 2 days I am heading for Daytona Spring Bike Week (actually I am back from BikeWeek in Daytona as evidenced in my last post - bikers don't use day planners so my scheduling is a little Whack). Who ever called me a lame blogger -- take that!!
Back to Sturgis - I am not sure what day I was on at the rally, so I will just post a picture or two and talk from my fading memory. So here we are during the week at the Buffalo Chip Campground, where we signed up for the pitchfork fondue dinner .... which was a steak cooked in a vat of boiling oil on a pitch fork - hence the name. Served with a salad, a baked potato, and some veggies ... maybe green beans. It was not the best steak I have ever ate but it was pretty OK and a refreshing change; better than a corn dog, Italian sausage or some other form of carnival food.
You can plainly see by the lovely building and dining ambiance what they lacked in decor they made up with cheap beer signs and banners.

67th Annual Black Hills Motor Classic (Part 6)
I am not sure what day we are on for the Sturgis Trip, but here is post #6. Started the morning with a shower and a trip down to the Pancake Breakfast put together by "Sons of Light" motorcycle ministry and they were pretty good, especially because they were free, all you needed to do was make a donation if you could afford it. Once again the weather was perfect for the days ride.
Our trailer turned out to be very, very comfortable with the air conditioning, shower, fridge, and soft chairs.
Cooling off before the next ride.
We even had some patio furniture and $20K Footstools made by the Motor Co.
Oh, and did I mention they did not require shirts?Thursday, November 8, 2007
67th Annual Black Hills Motor Classic (Part 3) VERY LATE
reader that said my blog was LAME O
because I have not updated in a long time!!!!
He was absolutely correct. I have not I will blame it on my new job etc etc, but here
is my 2008 Part 3 Update; We rented a camper at the famous Buffalo Chip Campground
which was filled with rock bands, biker vendors, beer, tattoo shops, bikers, and beer.
The folks that showed us to our camper showed us a little more than just our camper.
Since this is a family site I have modified the picture a little with not one but two
Gar street signs. Anyway, back to the accommodations .... it was great having
running water, air conditioning and a cold fridge for refreshments. Check it out -
hopefully I will not wait as long for part 4.
Thanks and Good Night!!!!
