Trip to the West Side Market - Cleveland

Exploring the New City

So we journeyed to the West Side Market on Saturday afternoon to buy FRESH everything. Have you ever heard that CLEVELAND ROCKS? Well this market certainly does! Renie and I were so amazed at the size of this market that we ended up buying only a few things for a wonderful dinner as you can see in the attached pics. I brought the camera to document the market and surrounding area, but the battery was dead, but we have illustrated below the fruits of our successful hunting & gathering expedition.

Worlds Famous Jalapeno Peppers ( Pioneer Woman's Blog ) with a wonderful filling wrapped in (Market Fresh) Thick Cut Peppered Bacon. We bought 10 peppers enough for 20 Delicious snacky-thingies, Renie told me she had eaten 4, and there were none left over, and I wonder why I have put on a little weight. 30lbs.(Market Fresh) Peppers
(Market Fresh) Michigan asparagus
(Market Fresh) Corn-on-the-Cob
(Market Fresh) Never Frozen - Pan Fried Ocean Perch
Can you Say? Perfect Meal!

Thought for the Day

People seem to be more violently opposed to fur, than leather.
Is it because it's safer to harass rich women than motorcycle gangs. Anonymous

RedNeck Chopper

Here is a newer twist on a chopper! Not from West Coast Choppers, OCC, Choppers Inc but from some guy who seemed to have a little extra timber in his garage. Got to love the imagination of folks across this country. Being an old woodworker myself I think he could have done a little more work on the final finish.

Al "Green" Gore

Now, I don't want to take a shot at an easy target, & I believe we have to start taking better care of our environment as Al Gore is advocating. But when someone goes militant on me and tells me what I should do .... they open themselves up to the same scrutiny!
Energy used by Gore’s home last year could power 232 U.S. homes for a month!

Gore’s personal electricity consumption up 10%, despite “energy-efficient” home renovations!

according to the Tennessee Center for Policy Research.

“A man’s commitment to his beliefs is best measured by what he does behind the closed doors of his own home,” said Drew Johnson, President of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research. “Al Gore is a hypocrite and a fraud when it comes to his commitment to the environment, judging by his home energy consumption.”
As the old adage goes " Do as I say not as I do"

... And the Rocket's (III) Red Glare ...

This is a late post, in fact it is from 2008 Spring Daytona Bike Week. A riding buddy of mine sent me these pictures a while back and I just looked at them. A couple of us were able to test ride on the Triumph ROCKET III. The Rocket III, with its fuel injected, three cylinder, twelve-valve 2,294cc powerplant giving 147ft lbs of torque at 2,500rpm, is officially the world’s largest capacity production motorcycle. It looks and feels like a real beast, and it fells pretty wide. But it is smooth and refined with some real get up & go in its stock form. Triumph says that no production bike can beat it in 0-60, even the Hayabusa, Honda VTX or Harley V-Rod!!

Baby Boom @ Gloucester High

I know this is supposed to be a Motorcycle Blog, maybe I have to stop reading the news ...... some of this stuff I can NOT believe!!
I read an article that 17 Gloucester High School students there are expecting and, according to a published report, most of them became that way on purpose. It said that half of the girls (all under 16) confessed to making a pact to get pregnant and raise their babies together.

Green Bulbs Harm Living Beings!!!???!!! HELP - This is long but very good.

This is scary!!! I did not know these bulbs (great for the environment) are so bad for people pets and general well being. I for one will be hoarding all the 99 cent bulbs I can find before 2010!!! I should have done the same when they came out with the new light flush commodes.

Incandescent bulbs, compact florescent lights, energy savings,

My Political Observation

IRAN CRACKS DOWN !!!!!
I read 2 articles today on Governments cracking down on the social behavior of its citizens - Iran is arresting people that don't comply with religious dress codes established by the ruling authorities. As I read this I thought that I am so glad I live in America where we have personal freedoms .............. That was until I read the next article and drew the connection........................

Female police officer tells a woman
that her manto (overcoat) is too short
and infringes Iranian Islamic dress
rules. BUSTED!!!

NEW YORK CRACKS DOWN !!!
The State of New York (ruling authorities being the Federation of Tax Administrators) is cracking down on it's smoking citizens by levying a $2.75 per pack tax on cigarettes. ....................................................................

The punishment for not conforming to the ruling party's way is of course different, however, the act of forcing a behavior is an issue that can not be ignored. You can argue the severity of the sanction, but the outcome is the same.

What is next for US citizens? Tax on snack foods, Jail time if we don't exercise? Did the founding fathers establish government for this? I think not.

53 Miles per Gallon - Harley's are GREEN

Gas mileage & greater MPG is all the rage in today's $4.00 per Gallon gas market. Prius has become the most popular car and General Motors is wondering what to do with the Hummer as they push out smaller cars. Well I have the answer for those single commuters ..... not as in non-married single ..... but all those folks I share the highway with to and from work that are in their cages by themselves. My choices in the morning are; 1) my car or 2) a choice of 2 HIGH MILEAGE vehicles that are energy efficient, small carbon footprint, more FPG (fun per gallon) and just may become politically correct during my lifetime (let's hope not) due to all these wonderful characteristics. PS and they have batteries.

RIDE SAFE - RIDE GREEN!!!!!

This kid IS George Bush. A very funny spot on global warming. All we need is for nature to cooperate.
