CrossBones - 2009

As many of you know I have coveted the Cross Bones as well as the Nightsters and the other Dark Customs ever since they first showed up on the showroom floor. Last year in August my riding buddy bought the then NEW Flat Black V-rod Rocket Ship right before our trip to Sturgis last year.
Keeping the tradition alive - I did it. I went in to get the StreetGlide serviced for my trip, and while I was waiting for it I succummed and traded it in on this beauty you see below.

Financially sound you ask? NO not at all, but the Glide needed two tires, brake pads all around, and the 15K check up which would run over 2 monthly payments. Soooooooooooo. I pulled the trigger.

My goal of course, was to help the Northeast Ohio ecomnomy with that old trickle down economic stuff. Now I have to put 500 miles on it by Thursday! It's such a tough life. Anyway I am a happy camper as I prepare for the trip to Milwaukee next week.

Left side, love the flat black!

Right Side Check out the Skull & Crossbones with Willie G's Signature. Lovely rear end!

Springer Front end. Check out that happy face.

Although I was sad as I saw the sales guy ride the Glide into the Garage, I soon had the big smile as I cruised down I-90 to start racking up the 500 miles!

How could you do that to your glide? Trading her in for a younger model! You bastard!!

Heh, honestly, if I was to trade mine in that Crossbones would be the one I would have picked up too. I love that bike. I have decided to convert my glide to a "dark custom". My dream is to keep the geezer glide and have a Crossbones in addition. That is a ways off, but you have to admit it would make an awesome threesome.

Congrats bother! I really want to know how the ride is and all that. Maybe after the 500 miles you could post a bit on the ride and handling characteristics of the bike. At least you pointed the gun in the right direction when you pulled the trigger.

She's sweeeeeet, dude!! Congrats on the new ride. I am sure you can handle giving her 500 miles this week, I put 400 on mine new Super Glide in the first 4 days!

WOW! I thought only women were that spontaneous while shopping! Congratulations on your new baby. She's a beauty! I'm like Dave, in the fact that I would be curious as how it rides compared to your Street Glide. I'm sure you'll have fun trying to figure it out! Enjoy!

Hello!

Found your blog on Dave's and the "Cross Bones" headline caught my eye.

Very nice. Since I'm on the fence as to what to buy for '09, I'll be interested to hear how you like riding the Cross Bones compared to the Glide. Even though I'm more a chrome guy than a dark custom guy, it's still a really nice bike.
